Jesus wears a white robe as "symbol" of purity and innocence; Mel Gibson is a more worldly film maker, and with the buckets of blood splashed on the screen to alert us to the images of torture and pain in a more realistic version, it just seems fitting that an allegory to the Adam/Eve naked in the Garden of Eden, beginning of the world according to scripture fit nicely into the concept of resurrection, a new beginning.

I've heard that in ancient times, people were crucified naked--to add humiliation to their pain. The white robe may be added to pictures for aesthetics...to add that flowing, white imagery we associate with angels and heavenly things. I guess the truth is, we have no way of knowing how he truly appeared, since there are no photographs, etc. from that time.

i am guessing that he didn't need the cloth he was buried in. When he resurrected he now had more powers because he died and came back to life so going around naked was no problem because he can appear and disappear as he pleases.

because he was wrapped in linens after he died by the female members of his family (according to what I have read), not clothes. So when he was reborn, he unwrapped the linens and was a naked as he was at his first birth.

we see pictures of Him wearing robes because we are a Puritanical society.

He would have cast off His burial shroud, as it was no longer needed - thus, he would have been nekkid.
