I like Toad a lot as a character, too. He might be a little too self-serving for an X-Men team, though. If the writers could account for his motivation for joining an X-Men team, then it could work.
I'd be interested in having Colossus & Nightcrawler in the team, too. They're my favorite X-Men characters.

I agree with the last guy that it would be great to see Nate Grey (x-man) come back, and actually join the team. Also, I think they should drop some of their bigger characters (especially wolverine), maybe form a team around one or two of the original x-men, and fill the roster with some lesser known, more obscure characters.

I'd like to see Psylocke come back from the eXiles.
The people I would like to see on a team that are not currently in either the X-Men, Uncanny or Astonishing would be:
Dust (although she is a New X-Man)
Psylocke
Husk
Northstar (though not crazy Northstar)
Storm (as leader)

Hmm, Toad is firmly in the self-serving-mostly-neutral camp. It's been so long since I've read a marvel comic that wasn't written by Joss Whedon. Since he brought back Colosuss I've been very happy.

Anybody but Wolverine. He is way too overused and it would be nice to read a Marvel comic without him in it for once.
I'd like to see Gambit back, I stopped reading all but Astonishing and X-Factor when they turned him into a drow.

I would Like to see them bring back Morph from "The Uncanny X-men" animated series. I loved how he could shape-shift like Mystique.
