One with the suppressed guilt feeling may never go for suicide if he can be handled / counseled properly. Generally, the suicidal tendency develops due to lack of love and affection, getting ignored by nears and dears , or too much anxiety's and thinking . To overcome all these one has to be guided properly along with love and affection from nears and dears. Once, he gets satisfied that he is not being considered useless or burden, slowly he will get rid of suicidal tendency

They may never, I mean I have never heard of somebody killing themselves over guilt, It might happen, but seriously the only way I could think of is if someone felt guilt for the death of someone else. And if that were the case it would differ from person to person, they may never, or they may do it right away.

only when you let them surface; guilt, and all other emotions, as well as suicidal thoughts, are cogntive based; they are not genetic, they're not a virus; they only surface when you allow them to. and they only can come about when irrational beliefs and ideas are a problem.

the only way one can prevent suicidal thoughts is by making a conscious decision to want to live on, be tough, and learn from one's mistakes. people who make many mistakes tend to be the most wise people. i once read a research paper that claimed the 100 people who are believed to have influenced society the most had some form of mental illness, usually OCD or depression. noone believes these people to be worthless, as they might have believed themselves to be, and nor should anyone else with suicidal thoughts

i've read a lot of true stories about suicidal people who survived their attempt and realized they never wanted to die in the first place, and they changed their lives because of that epiphany. you need to decide for yourself (and be honest about it) do you TRULY want to die?
