If you love Sarah Dessen try Joan Bauer. She is a great writer. My favorites are Hope Was Here and Squashed. Although she's written several more--and I've enjoyed them all. You might also enjoy Sonya Sones. Her books are What My Mother Doesn't Know, and One Of Those Hideous Books Where The Mother Dies. They are great, and are very fast reads. Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta is great. Dairy Queen by Catherine Gilbert Murdock is good. The Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty is great. Hit the Road by Caroline B. Cooney is good and very funny. And you really can't beat the Georgia Nicholson series by Louise Rennison if you're looking for laugh-out-loud books. The first one is Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging. I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter is good. I smiled all the way through it.

And perhaps my two favorite books are Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer.

Im about your age. I love:

Series of Unfortunate Events-Lemony Snicket
Any Book by Lois Lowry; especially The Giver
The Clique-Lisi Harrison
The Chronicles of Narnia! a must read series!
Wenny Has Wings- Janet Lee Carey- a bit short but wonderful
The City of Ember and The People of Sparks
I've heard good things about Eragon, but I've also heard its a dumb semi-knockoff of Harry Potter.
Uglies, Pretties, and the newest upcoming book, Specials, a wonderful trilogy series of must reads for people 10 and over-all by Scott Westerfield.

And watch for the latest Harry Potter book which is supposed to come out this summer! Happy Reading! :)

I'm also a teenage girl and read all the time.
Some good books are: Tamora Pierce books, Cornelia Funke books, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Secrets of my Hollywood Life, The Gallagher Girl books by Ally Carter, Eragon and Eldest, The Enchanted Forest chronicles, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, The Taker, Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements... There are tons more excellent young adult novels. Hope this helps.

Try Trudi Canavan, Jane Lindskold will probably truly astound your sensibilities with her 'Wolf' series, Dennis McKiernan, Emily Drake writes a series sort of like Harry Potter but it takes place in America. Or any other books and authors you can understand without too much thought. Just enough to enjoy the stories, not have to ponder the improbabilities of all the juxtapositions written on the pages. Have fun, happy reading.

Some good books that I've liked and would recommend are Eragon by Christopher Paolini, Goose Girl by Shannon Hale, Bad Kitty by Michele Jaffe and The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. Enjoy!

Hi, You should really check out Holly Black, her books TITHE and VALIANT are great if you like average loner type characters who develop relationships with cool creatures like fairies and people of the underworld. Awesome reads both of them.

The other is Stephenie Meyer, TWILIGHT AND NEW MOON are great suspenseful stories about vampires and werewolves. Not gory, but page turning, and the character is an average girl trying to make it in a weird society. I like the way these were written..in a one person narrative perspective, they dont jump around which makes a smooth read.
I am not a teenager, far from it, and i have read these books and prefer them to most adult fiction today ;;;Happy reading!

a timeless classic would be "The Great Gatsby" its so great! Also, you are going to have to eventually read it anyway, might as well get a head start! If you're looking for a newer book that has kids your age in it I recomment "Stoner and Spaz". Its about a girl who is bit of a rebel who becomes friends with a boy who suffers from MS. Its good! Read both of them!
++++Almost forgot.. Almost all autobiographies are great reads.. Your library should have a pretty decent collection, so check them out!
