Alright, so in gym class we are doing the basketball unit. I haven't played a real basketball game with real rules in a long time! We are playing half court, and I find myself very confused. I never know when to "check" it, or when to clear it, or even what "clear it" means. I seem to make a fool of myself very often because I think I'm checking it, so I bounce-pass it to someone from the other team, and then they just take it and shoot it! I feel like such a fool! Please help!

You only check it when another team scores and a foul is called. No foul is generally called unless someone says that after they shoot or drive. "Clear it" means to take it back behind the three point line (the equivalent of goin to the other side of the court), in the South we calling "Takin it Back"

You don't run as much and it helps if you have a couple of fat people who can't move to clog up the lane!
