i work at a highschool and i doubt any of them would purposely try to ruin your grades. but i could be wrong, there are some weirdos out there. also, maybe you get points taken off becuse you doo talk to much? and grades are important in high school, colleges these days get so many applicants that everything you do will be looked at. good luck, ask the teacher about it. but do it in a mature way. if you want to be treated like an adult, you must earn respect. show you teacher tomorrow that you are concerned about the grade and it will be straightened out. see her before or after class, but dont get snotty. be adult about it.

I'm an English teacher and I always tell all of my students "Save everything I give back to you. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes. If there's an issue about a grade, come and talk to me about it. Bring me your work that you've saved. If I posted something wrong in the gradebook I will change it." So, my advice to you is to go through your work, find the items that are listed as missing, respectfully approach her and ask her to chanage the grade. Teachers don't hate kids. Sometimes they hate a kid's behavior, but that's not the same thing. I don't think your teacher is purposefully putting incorrect information down because that would be just plain unethical.

I agree with Biker Babe. Most teachers will not do this on purpose and this teacher has tried to let you know that your behavior was not appropriate in the classroom. You mentioned that she said you talked too much. Are you talking only when answering questions or in certain allowable situations like during group discussions, before or after class? Are you talking while the teacher is trying to give a lecture to the class as a whole, during a class reading assignment, or other time when an individual is speaking?
If you are talking when another individual is speaking, and that individual is NOT supposed to be you, or you are talking during another inappropriate time, then yes, you are most likely talking too much. My guess is that you either want the attention of your classroom or you don't care about anyone else in the class and feel that it's your personal chat time. Your teacher has tried to bring this to your attention and, having failed, tried to bring it to your parents' attention.
Try talking to her before or after class and ask her when are appropriate times for you to be talking in class. Write them down, memorize them and keep a copy on the front of your notebook. Everytime you open your mouth to speak, shut it again, think "Is this an appropriate time for me to speak? Is someone else talking? Are we supposed to be doing [fill in the blank] and not speaking at all?" or anything else your teacher has mentioned.
If you can keep your mouth shut except for absolutely necessary things like asking the teacher a question, I bet your grades will come up to acceptable levels. Also, ask your teacher what you did wrong on the assignments and think back to what was going on during those assignments. I bet you'll find you were talking to friends or whomever you chat with during the time you were supposed to be doing whatever it was. If you be quiet during these times, your grade should also come up.
If you were just looking for sympathy along the lines of "Oh yeah, all teachers are evil dictators out to make my life miserable, to ruin my social standing, and they should all be banned," or "You do NOT talk too much and you are NOT crazy. That teacher DOES hate you and intends to fail you. Report her immediately," then you should really think about your maturity level.
Teachers make mistakes. I've had both high school teachers and college professors tell me that they make mistakes so check with her regarding homework and possible missed assignments to make sure you were given all the points possible. Take the initiative and don't try to blame the teacher if you're not doing well in the class based on your own merits.

I am a teacher, and I would NEVER mess up a student's grade on purpose. But, there are some teachers out there who would do something like that (I know, because I have had some myself, and worked with some.) The best thing for you to do is keep up with every paper that you have done (if you have to, make photocopies of them before you turn them in) and ask questions if you have a problem with a grade. If it gets too bad, ask your oarents to come to the school with you and have a conference. And remember - teachers are human too! We make mistakes, too, so maybe, just MAYBE, the teacher could have miscalculated your average. Good luck!

I think you won't like my answer but I'd like you to really and honestly think about it. Have you ever heard the expression "A good defense is a good offense"? A lot of students on this board complain about the teachers and how mean they are, giving too much homework, altering grades, having grudge matches, and in general doing everything they can to mess up your life. Let me ask you another question but be honest, really honest!, not just you but all who answered your post. If you were a teacher would you like YOU? What actions, attitudes and behavior do you exhibit in class and would you like them if you were a teacher?I totally agree that there are a few bad apples among teachers, but maybe they became bad because they have seen how hopeless it is sometime to teach some students anything. It's so easy to go on the ofense and attack the teacher than looking in the mirror, isn't it? We all want to think that we are special and everyone who disagrees or criticizes us is somehow against us. In your question/statement you said yourself that she called your parents because you talk too much (you are disrupting the class) and maybe she's tried to get you to be quiet(shut up) but in frustration she tried to get the help of your parents. I think the marks you got are the ones you've earned with your effort. Perhaps, trying to understand the teacher's position, losing the attitude and a little maturity would go a long way in getting better marks. Please think about it, all of you 'cause in real life you'd get fired.

I had the same problem when I was in high school. I was an honor student, but my math teacher didn't like me and even told me she was going to fail me in my Algebra 2 class at the beginning of the year. Sure enough, she did fail me. I took the class in summer school and made an A. Some teachers are just out to get you!

No,its not crazy it possible your teacher can have a races or some kind of hate red toward you or she is just plane out mean its wrong, but for the most part you can't really tell unless you have the 100% proof she probably likes you but just be yourself and when you find the truth you will know.

I dont think its crazy cause I had the same problem, but you parents might think so, they may see it as you just fooling around in school so just ask her to show you why and how you got those zeros. If she refuses to show you 9 times out of 10 she's hiding something.
