I know normally it takes 14 days for a woman to ovulate from the day her period starts. I started my period Jan 22. and still havent ovulated (its been 24 days) is that alright? Should i continue taking ovulation tests until I get a surge or should I go to the dr. ? Does anyone else take this long.

Im not sure how long it normally takes for me to ovulate. I recently stopped breastfeeding didnt have a period during that time.

No, I dod not think that you can ovulate so late in a cycle. It is possible that you missed your surge, or you did not ovulate this month. I would wait another week or so and then take a pregnancy test if you have not started your period.

I think that you should give yourself another few months, and continue monitoring yourself for ovulation. Considering you just resumed having a period, it may just need time to get back to normal. If after 3 months you still haven't ovulated, then I would ask the OB for a recommendation.

14 days is just the average for a woman on a 28 day cycle. You may just have a longer cycle. Have you tried charting your temperature or checking cervical mucous? If you are concerned, you should call your doctor. Good luck!
