No, I don't think that at all. However, no matter how wrong they may be, if you want customers to keep coming back, go along with them if you can't gently "suggest" something else with an explanation of why you are suggesting an alternative. Then, if they insist, sell it to them anyway. And when they come back griping, remind them ever so gently you suggested the right thing when they were arguing with you to begin with.

Smile, and keep those commissions coming in!

Good luck....!!!

You are right the customer is usually WRONG. I hate that customer is always right and I don't even work in customer service. Whoever came up with that rule never worked in a bad enviroment where the customer is usually never WRONG.

No I don't think customer is always right. Some customer know they wrong and still try to use "the customer is always right " to their advantage.

After working several retail and customer service jobs, I've learned that the customer is NOT always right. Most of them yell, complain and throw tantrums because they know the manager will eventually give in and not have to deal with bad publicity.

I only think the customer is always right when I wasn't the one that gave the other side of the story. Customer can't can't always be right when I am.

after years of working in retail/customer service i know they are not always right. some just dont read the prices at all, and some just try to pull a fast one over people. i just love the people who return something they have obviously used (like a pair of worn out shoes) and complain that they purchased them that way. yeah right, and i'm the president of the US)

No, they are not always right. I was called a racist because I wouldn't sell something to a customer that I couldn't sell anyway. I asked him to leave. Sometimes you don't always need that customer.

I have a part-time jog in retail and I don't believe the customer is always right. Most of the time the one who want to be right a rude and disrespectful. They tend to look down on you because you're in retail. I 'm respectful to those who give respect.

It depends if I am the customer, as I am always right, hence if I were the customer, I would always be right, as I already am.
