Wow, it's really not evil, unless you believe it is. I find it very difficult to believe that they'd mass market a demonic communications device and sell it at Target. Any way, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "setting". Really, it just depends on what kind of atmosphere you want. Meaning, you could dim the lights and light candles to make it spooky. You could sit in a brightly lit kitchen eating homemade chocolate chip cookies if you want. The best suggestion that I can give you is to just think about what sort of effect you want and then have fun with it! One caution, however: as you see, a lot of people have difficulties with this game, and that's fine (to each their own, beliefs shouldn't be poked fun at), so be careful that you don't upset any one by whipping out an ouija board. I hope this works out for you. Have fun!

The game isn't what is evil. Its sitting down and opening your self up to something you are not prepared for and inviting things into your life you don't really want. Research most possession cases and you will see that most have involved a Ouija board.

Don't mess with the Ouija board! It is at best someone pulling your leg and at worst demonic intervention meant to mislead and confuse you from the truth. When I was younger I actually attended a birthday party where this was played and I can tell you at the very least that nothing good came of it. To this day I regret playing it.

The links below explains the consequences of ouija a lot better than I ever could:

All the games in the world and you are choosing to play this game of Satan? You will bring nothing but bad into your life messing with that. Find something more positive to play and don't ruin your cousin's birthday party.

Oiija boards are evil and nothing to be played around with. Find another "game."

Low lights, maybe some candles, eery music quietly playin, just try and have fun and make it spooky.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. I have had a lot of people say that actually invites bad spirits in your home.
