Good question....it depends on what you like though. My favorite songs of theirs are Fade to Black, then One (those two are, in my opinion, by far the best)....so I would say Ride the Lightning and/or And Justice for All, based primarily on those two songs. If you like "radio songs," either the Black album or Load would be the best. Most Metallica fans prefer their older stuff so based on that, I'd say that in addition to Ride the Lightning and AJFA, I would throw Master of Puppets into that mix and call those the top 3.
