My firefox browser instead of changing the page to a new one it opens it an a new window

That's pretty normal for browser. You can change it by Go to Tools,Options...,Tabs and select "New pages should be opened in a new tab" or something like that.

You can make the default as 'New Tab' instead of 'New Page' by the following:
Go to Tools >> Options >>Tabs >> select "New pages should be opened in" -- "a new tab".
Webpages can override the default setting of the browser & make the link open in a new page instead. You can force that too to open in a new tab.
Keep the 'Control(Ctrl)' key pressed, while clicking on any link in the webpage. It should open the page in a new tab.
