I am 100% the right person to ask- I have worked for the po for many years now and all of my fam has worked there. The score is good. You should know however that people who have ten or fi ve point preference (disabled vet over 30%-10 ,vet-5). Without over time in five years you can expect to make 40,000. This is the kicker. I know very few postal employees who dont get OT unless they work in a very small office. My father (who loves the OT) makes over 100,000 a year.
They say when you get hired on that you will be a PTF (part time flexible) but due to the union rules the PTF's almost always get more than 40 hours a week.
Its a hell of a goood job, very easy.

I make approx. 35-40 dollars an hour on OT. my average income is about 65 a year.

As far as how fast you get hired. Noone can answer that question. There are so many factors involved. You will stay on the list I believe for two uears unless you get an extension for one add. year. I would say keep looking for another job, but if and when they call you, take it. I got hired within two weeks but this is very unheard of. You can usually get a job as a casual and this would REALLY help you get hired, regardless wich office proposes you. Why bring in someone that has to be trained when you already have the skills.

I applied for the PO 2. Have yet to take the exam. I was told you must score between 70 and 100 for passing, of course. But that I should aim somewhere between 90 and 100 for a fast call back. Starting positions are at least $20 an hour. And you can eventually make up to $54 an hour, this was same for all positions. This is all the info I was given before I got my exam training package. Not sure if it differs from state to state. I'm in Cali. Good luck to you!

i don't think of you could take it lower back for a particular length of time, I scored ninety once and were given employed yet I not in any respect stayed, it become only for section time and that i secured an entire time pastime elsewhere.
