Why do democrats use the word "Conservative" like it's an insult?
I personally am proud to be a conservative and would feel deep shame and embarassment to call myself a democrat.
See how petty that makes me sound?

I try not to insult republicans and only tend to use conservatives and neocons . There are many Good republicans and democrats out there who do not vote the ticket but exercise the grey matter between their ears to make informed choices .
I do have an issue with those who vote a single issue like abortion when selecting a candidate to vote for . People who say if a politician is willing to go with the majority on that issue then I can not support him . Would you want him to raise you taxes simply because the majority wanted that to happen . We need to remain fair and work to educate people to end abortion . We need to provide the women with a bonus maybe of 10,000 thats only 10 billion dollars to end a million abortions certainly we could afford that rather then say the billions we lost in Iraq . I would say that if women got a 10,000 dollar check to have a child they would choose to have one . Make it so women who have a family income below 20,000 get 10 grand and do not even need to keep the child . This will add to the labor pool making it more advantageous to business in a few years as the kids grow up and begin working . Without workers we need less managers more workers more managers with good wages . We would be helping to boost the economy in the future . A good worker can make 100 dollars a day for the owner . in no time at all we will recoup the expense of having children .

You seemed to have answered your own question. "I personally am proud to be a liberal and would feel deep shame and embarrassment to call myself a republican." The Republican's feel the same way about calling themselves Democrats or liberals.
It is all part of our current method of attack dog politics.

Barry gained the election via six factors. Six stinking factors. no longer a mandate. And as for "liberatarian" Yahoo solutions is infested with Ron Paul nuts. If there have been as large a share of libertarians as their are posts on Yahoo solutions, the Libertarian party which has in no way elected a single candidate to national place of work in its 36 3 hundred and sixty 5 days background, would be carry a dozen seats in Congress.

Why do people use liberal and conservative interchangeably with republican and democrat even though the former 2 are ideologies and the latter 2 are political parties.
Yes its true many repubs are conservative and many dems are liberal but its far from always the case and lets compare apples to apples.
Also liberalism and conservatism has become kinda like music categories... you can find so many sub categories within. You hear neo con used profusely and I think most using it have no real idea what it actually is.

Really is that why Air America said there were "progressive" not liberal.
Why doesn't Hillary, Obama, Edwards etc come out and say they are liberal.
Liberals are so proud of it why do they run away from it.
I am not ashamed to be call conservative or Republican or a Conservative Christian.
They give more in time and money to help the poor than liberals do.

Lots of Republicans are Liberals. Take President Bush for example, he is the best, most honest and most Liberal president we have had since President Clinton, and he is almost as honest as President Clinton.
Didn't Bush follow Clinton's advice and take out that far right wing conservative Saddam Hussein and his Republican Guard and Republican Palace so that Iraq can have a good, decent, Democratic party like the USA has and not just a conservative Baath (aka Republican) Party.

Sometimes liberal is good, sometimes it is bad. I think I have seen the word neocon used as an insult on here. I have liberal views concerning education, environment, and sometimes healthcare, but I hold conservative views concerning abortion, marriage, 2nd Amendment and death penalty. I think sometimes they should be mixed in politics, the Dems are wrong sometimes and so are the Reps. Bush's handling of Iraq is bad, but so is the Dems acceptance of birth control abortion.

It's inexplicably childish. You have to think that Conservatives are a sub-species of the human race.
Bush is supposed to be a buddy and ally of the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard ; apparently he values his counsel and advice. And what is the name of the party John Howard leads: The Liberal Party of Australia ! Can't reconcile that fact.

Good for you.
So, can you, too, be proud of liberal Sally Lieber, who thinks she knows better than everyone, liberal and conservative alike, at child rearing, even though she's single with no children?
