Most likely there is no sound card driver installed.

Go to your manufacturers website, and they will have a place where you can download the driver for it.

Are you really using windows? Anyway, Don't look for volume in the control panel. Look for sounds and audio devices. Also, there is an option to hide the sound icon from taskbar. I'm sure from the sounds and audio devices, you should access volume. In fact, its the first tab. Also, laptops tend to have some volume adjustment on it. Check for like blue marks on your keyboard. Usually, this will be F3 and F4 or Page Down and Page Up, being Vol. down and vol. up respectively. To use these, use the FN key. If none of this works, read your laptops manual!

Also, if you dont find the Sound and Audio Devices icon in the Control Panel, i think you should reinstall windows or something... thats not right

Oh... and that guy might be right about sound devices too. No card. Thats possible. But its a laptop, so...

Last note: Your laptop might not have speakers. So you'll need to purchase either external speakers or headphones. Hehe. Too bad for you.
