For instance, I saw The Departed last night. They played comfortly numb, but not by pink floyd it was like a cover band. when i was watching the news a couple hours later there was an ad for one of those compilation cds, and one of the songs scrolling down was called Comfortly numb by the departed. That kind of thing happens to me all the time. Another example I was talking with someone about something that happened with an old acquaintance, then the very next day this person was on the news being interviewed randomly, and it was at bar were you know i just happened to glance at the tube at the percise moment the dude appeared. is this common for people, because these kind of things happen to me very often and i find it very strange.

It's actually called the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon. Yes, it's very common. See the article below for more information.

The first instance happens all the time. It would be like me saying I watched Anchorman on DVD then later one of my friends said stay classy. The other instance is coincidence. Neither is Deja Vu. Deja Vu is when you get that really strange feeling that you have seen or done something before and then watched it happen again. It can be really creepy. It is like you saw something happen before and while it is happening you feel like you know what is going to happen next.

It happens to me, too, like this very question, and I don't understand what makes it happen..

I think you are talking about deja vu. Also, it might just be coincidence.
