Yeah, and "the South will rise again!"
My question is - when?
It's been almost 150 years. You guys are sure taking your time.
Here's another stereotype for you - why don't you get the broken down cars and refrigerators off the front lawn of your trailer home, and take a look at the man - not just his skin.
On the other hand, you might not actually think this way, and are just playing devil's advocate. In which case forget the trailer home comment.

If a black man or woman gets elected President by better educated and more intelligent people than grand dragons and others who would vote based solely on race, the South will indeed accept him or her as President.

Most people in the South have emerged from the dark ages of slavery and bigotry. You should join them!

Never because your basic premise is untrue. If the South elects Black politicians, which they do, they'll vote for a Black president. I do not think the South is nearly as rascist as you assume.

typical answer from another rascists southerner. just because you dont like black people doesnt mean every southerner doesnt want one. i would LOVE to have obama as my president. then again, i dont see him as a black man running, which is the difference between me and you. i see him as a very stong candidate who supports many of the same things i do. i dont see skin color. besides, the democrats dont give a crap about the south anyway. they wont carry southern states anyway. its amazing though how this area still has not grown up and matured and gotten past the bigotry.

You speak of the South as if it were a unified entity. I know many Southerners who are not afraid to think outside the box. In addition, the South is rapidly becoming populated with minority citizens who are flexing their muscle at the voting booth.

There's black people in the South who would vote for him!

...annnd, there are other demographics that Obama could get that could make up for the votes he wouldn't get. For example, a lot of younger generation voters don't use their priviliges - remember how vote or die failed? Obama is the kind of candidate who could catch their attention.

I think there' s people in the North too. Racism exists everywhere and in all shades. Why there's even blacks that view Obama as not having lived the black experience. They say he's not black enough.

I doubt Obama will take one red state. Nothing against people in red states, but if someone won't let thier daughter date a black man, they definitely won't vote for a black man. They'd rather vote for a mormon than a black man.

yeah, who cares...you aren't the majority, thank god. You didn't accept the end of slavery either, but that didn't matter
