Well it really all depends on how much you want to spend.

If you want a straight answer, I would say go for the 7950GT as it is a faster card with more video memory.

If you want an answer based on price vs performance, the 7900gs is at a good price point right now, and is very overclockable if you are into that sort of thing.

Go to these two sites for info on what to buy and how to buy a graphics card. One reason, if one graphics card can put out 1800X1200 graphics, but your monitor can only hand 1400X800 graphics then you are wasting your money on that card. (I used the bogus numbers for reference only). You are paying for something that you will never use. Also, can your system handle the card. There is a lot of questions. But go to the URLS and bookmark for future referece.

But if want to know send me your computer name , brand, and the top amount you want to spend on your graphics card. Also, send your monitor name and brand too.

But considering your computer and monitor are up-to-date it is easy with GeForce cards. The higher the number and letter the better. 7900 GT is better than 7900 GS (T is higher than S, and then TX would even be higher than both). The 7950 GT is better just because of the number. And it means a higher bandwidth and more pixels. The more the pixels the better the pic. Of course, there is the 7950 with the 1 Gb, which you should buy instead. Then with a little more cash the 8800 is not that far away too.

Why would anyone answer anything but the 7950 GT with 512mb? You didn't ask about price just which would you choose. You'd be crazy not to choose the 512MB card.

I know this is an uncreative answer but I would go with the one with more memory.

What kind of motherboard is it?
What speed?
How much ram?
And what type of gaming are you doing?
