There are many reasons people may have for the removal of a tree.

It may be in the way of construction.
The tree is diseased or damaged.
Replacing it with a more desirable species.
Some idiot planted a 40' high tree under a 25' power line! Very common.
Tree has outgrown its environment. (Huge tree in a small space.)
A fruit tree that is no longer productive.
It's a very invasive species and makes a mess by spreading where it isn't wanted.
Planted too close to a building.
etc.

These are just a few that I've encountered in my profession. Some are valid reasons, while others are lame. Oh, btw, I'm a Landscape Architect.

I have had that same thought! People remove trees for all sorts of strange and to me some times bizare reasons. Some times the roots interfere with drainage pipes. Some trees are removed because they are blocking a view, some trees are remuved to supposedly prevent forest fires(no trees no fuel) this happens near urban areas. Some people say they are "messy"Some people do not like shade. Some people do not like trees. I have not watched YouTube because my internet is to slow so I do not have a specific answer.Hope this helps

That damn oxygen pollution.
Reagan was right.
Trees pollute more than factories.
....and according to some speed radar guns, can travel faster than a VW.
