A-Line Skirts will become your best friend.... I have an hour glass shape and love it... it flatter you and people can't really tell then the size of your thighs.... However, when you have thicker legs you should watch your shoes... nice legs can go with thin heels or flats. thicker need a lift in heel to create a thinner ankle but a chunkier heel to not offset the size of your legs.
Definitely do fitted tops with clevage... it give a good accent, and since you are wearing an A-line skirt you can't wear a poofy shirt, if not you'll look like a pillow.
Of course black pants look good on everyone, but the above give a fashion notch to your look.

Button down shirts that form an hourglass shape. Express sells some (I got one just after Xmas). You can also try buying a shirt the next size up because you do not want anything to cling to your body, but to lay against (there's a difference). Also tops/dresses with an empire waist would be good.

Wear your pants extra long with heels that are high enough to make you taller but aren't awkward to walk in. Also, don't wear narrow pant legs -- it's better for your shape to wear flares or full-leg pants, to balance the width of your bum. Also, your shirt or jacket shouldn't create a line straight across the fullest part of your hips. A horizontal line should be between waist and hips, or a bit below the hip.
