I'm looking to buy a CD single as sort of an inside joke with a friend of mine. I don't want to download it or anything since it would take away from the humor of it:

Artist: The The
Song: This is the Day
Original Album: Soul Mining

I really don't want to buy the whole album, just the single if there is one. So, where can I find it? It seems to be nonexistent which is weird considering it's one of the most recognizable songs of the 80s.

Thanks!

Try checking Ebay - I've seen some pretty hard-to-find music on there. While you might not be able to get a US single, sometimes groups release singles in other countries - like the UK or Japan. That might be what you end up finding.
If that doesn't work, do an on-line search for some fan sites. Sometimes these sites have stores where they'll sell music (how they can, I don't know; but it's perfectly legal!).
Lastly, try checking Amazon (if you haven't done so already); again, you might only find imported singles, which can run into some money (I've seen imported singles go for as much as $30!).
Good luck to you, either way!! :)

Ebay is my best advice, I have found some pretty obscure stuff there. That is where my 19 Commander Meatloaf and his lost Army albums came from.

Have you tried either CDNow or Ebay? They usually have unusual cds. You could also try feeding the info into something like PriceGrabber.co.uk.

Good Luck!
