48 MB of RAM is NOT enough for Win XP.

And you cannot get Win98 anymore, Microsoft does not sell it nor support it anymore.

Minimum required for XP is 128. However 256 is recommended and 512 is better. Most likely your computer hardware is too old to run the Operating System. Suggest look in old stuff to get windows 98 back as it is not available for download unless it is a pirated copy.

48 mb memory will not work on win xp sp2, try to add another 128 or higher memory or better buy a new pc which will support xp sp 2 or vista.

You need atleast 128MB of RAM. 48? No way. I never knew that they ever sold such low RAM. You MUST upgrade your RAM to atleast 128MB. I have 256MB on both of my computers. But many people have atleast 512MB. 1 GB is popular, but the max most computers can handle is 4GB, depending on your motherboard.

You can find anything at www.froogle.com. You can even put in a price range.

Good luck!

would nicely be hardware or per chance BIOS correct. have you ever checked the motherboard forums to work out if others have had the placement? perchance a BIOS replace will be functional (yet provided that you come across postings describing an same difficulty). My next concept will be to verify the potential provide is able to helping your configuration. perchance because the equipment is installation, the equipment begins to charm to larger potential and it fluctuates and motives the hangup. If underpowered, the equipment can run somewhat hotter. After that, are you able to ensure that the factors are all seated properly? attempt to reseat the memory and video card and run through lower back. If that fails, will be time to the contact the motherboard supplier rapidly for help. Given you've tried with diverse drives and both IDE and SATA, i don't think of it truly is a disk correct difficulty.

You should have AT LEAST 128mb. 48mb is not enough as xp takes up that much idle.
