Implantation happens 6-12 days after ovulation with 8-10 being most common. You are currently 11 days past ovulation and very sensitive home tests are about 75% effective now. For best odds wait at least 14 days past ovulation.

Conception takes place on the day of ovulation. When you ovulate the ovum is only viable for 24-36 hours.

A home test might show, but its best to wait until you're good and late for your period before testing. It saves you from the agony of a false negative.

You can however just about always get a good result from blood work by now. Thats always your best bet.

To get an accurate result on a pregnancy test you need to wait until the first day of your missed period. If you get a negative result on that day but still think you are , wait 3 days for the hpg hormone to double and retest. Sometimes you have to do this several times because your level is too low to detect in a urine test. Early in pregnancy it doubles every 3 days ( in viable pregnancies) so retest every 3 days until you are 7 -10 days late then see your doctor if it is still negative.
