I dont think that it is. My hubby proposed to my on Valentine's 1995. And my cousin's hubby proposed to her on x-mas 2004/5. I announced my pregnancy on x-mas 2001. I think holidays are wonderful for stuff like that. I would have had my wedding on Halloween but it wasnt on a weekend.

It depends who you propose to, and what it is you propose. Try and get married to the person you went on holiday with, unless it makes you physically sick.

Yep....My ex and I announced our engagement at Thanksgiving dinner....the second time I got engaged was the day before valentines day...and I'm not sure how it's going to work out..we've kinda hit a rough spot..

not sure about the proposing part
but the marriage part, guest might have out of town plans and can't make it, or hold a grudge thinking you're ruining their out of town plans

We got married on July 4th and every year everyone shoots off fireworks in honor or our anniversary.....it was a good thing.
