The usual causes for random shutdowns are:
1)Overheating triggers auto-shutdown to protect the CPU;
2)Memory module going bad;
3)Power supply going bad.

there's a couple of things you can do to solve this problem. there is no error disk detected you say? the diagnostic is actually rather simple to check. first you need to pour a big cold glass of water and take just a sip. then open your laptop and pour the rest on the keyboard. gently shake and it should fix the problem. if not you can always access the main harddrive by repeatedly dropping the unit an the ground until it emits smoke. this worked for a friiend of mine...good luck!

Most likely your fan inside the laptop has stopped that happens. But what you can do is this. Always set your laptop up in the air. For example a shoe box or something of a platform.

Then get a fan and blow the air under the platform.

Also you can be a cooler which is very cheap and its a platform you set it on and their are fans in it that blow air up.

Also for now download SPEEDFAN which is a free software that shows your computer temperature so you can watch it.

Download it at the site below

The battery is bad. Google the site and see if there is a recall on your battery. Probably not, but if the battery gets hot they can explode with dire consequences. Now if you had bookmarked these two URLs you would know about such things.
