Brady Quinn has more playing expierience because he is a senior and Russell is a Junior. Quinn has also been running an NFL style offense with Notre Dame, this is a massive advantage when going into the NFL.
Russell has mobility, size, and tremendous arm strength (40 yard throw sitting down). He also played in one of the toughest confrences in college football.
Brady Quinn is better currently, but Russell might develop to be a better QB in the long run.

People are excessively either in love or totally hate Quinn just since he went to ND... Most people don't act like this on Russell, anyone noticed? My personal opinion is that Russell is more talented, but Quinn is smarter and will prove to be a better NFL QB.

To 'mohvictor': The issue with ND is that their defense struggled, so Quinn couldn't win games as often as possible, and their O-Line was a weak link. You wanna see BQ in a clutch situation - review the game tape from UCLA, clutch throws right on the money to Samardzija (spelling?)

Russell will fit better with the Raiders however since he is more mobile and can throw on the run better.

I'll say Quinn, but it depends on what style the team is looking for. Russell may be better for the Raiders, as a big QB with raw talent, mobility and a cannon arm. I think Quinn will have the longer NFL career with better stats ultimately, because he's been groomed for the pros the last couple of years. There are tons of great college players who haven't done anything in the pros, though, so we'll see.

Brady Quinn. I disagree that he folds under pressure. The only reason that it appeared that way is because his offense at Notre Dame could not help him. He only had one great receiver. His passes were perfect and on target. I truly think if Brady had been on a team with receivers that could catch any pass thrown to them he would have been a legend. He also is tall (6' 4") which will help him to see over the tall line men. His pin point accuracy will lead him to a great NFL career. But that is not to say J. Russel is not a bad QB. He has phenomenal arm strength that didn't compare to any other college QB. He can toss a ball 40 yards from his butt, 60 yards from his knees, and 85 from his stance. That is incredible.

Quinn is a better fanchise QB. History shows that smart pocket passers do better in the long run then a Russell/Vick/Young type. While those players are skilled, they're only effective for awhile and you can't really build a team around them. McNabb changed his skill set so he has sort of made it work.

B. Quinn reminds me of a Vince Young or Jay Cutler. I feel he is the better of the two and will provide results sooner than Russell will

Brady Quinn is extremely over-rated!!!!! He will be a waste of 1st round money, I am not against him because of the team he comes from. The reason I can state this is he has had 2 years in an Pro-Football offensive set and he was good against mediocre to better teams but could never answer the call against the best teams, in the NFL they are all "best" teams loaded with quality athletes at every position., he has shown over and over he cannot play up to that level, he probably could be a average QB in the NFL but definently not 1st round quality
J.Russel looked good in the Bowl game but that was an average College D, never saw him play before that so I can't say if he's better, He was cool and calm with an accurate arm,I'd take him over Brady just going on that Bowl game

J.Russell is better with his mobility and arm strength. B.Quinn is better with his accuracy and mental ability for the game. Quinn would be better for the long haul but Russell would be a quick fix for a team like the Raiders but he won't last. I would go with Quinn.

I think for the NFL, Brady Quinn would be better...although, JaMarcus Russell outplayed him in the Sugar Bowl...

for a lil while Russell will be the way better QB, but then he'll be same as Culpepper and not have the stamina and the health to go too many years of bein a solid QB and will fall apart early in his career and drop to the bottom of the list of NFL QB's and Quinn will be consitant never a pro bowler but solid his whole career like a Testaverde
