I won regionals with this experiment, but it is pretty advanced when I was in 6th grade (more than 10 years ago). What I did was hook the biggest battery i could find which was one of those block batteries and connect one of the charges to a lightbulb with a wire. Then I used another wire connected to the battery and ran it through three solutions: water, salt water, and lemon juice (all at different times). And you figure out which produces the brighter light. The title of my project was in all scietific terms and was like 20 words, but it just said which produces brighter light, water, salt water, or lemon juice, but I used all scietifc words on it. Message me if you wanna learn more.

If you like rollercoasters, you can make a home-made accelerometer to measure the g-forces the rider experiences and go to your favorite rc and ride in the front, middle and back rows to see which seat has the highest g-forces.

http://www.sciencebuddies.org/mentoring/science-projects.shtml
first, take the survey, by doing that, it helps you narrow down wat kind of science ideas your most interested in.
