I think it depends on your contract. Your terms and conditions should outline the remuneration you could expect when on maternity. In the UK it is usually 6 weeks at 90% of basic salary then the SMP at about £108 per week. Some companies do offer more than the statutory though, check if yours is one of them.

The best people to ask are your HR dept or the ACAS advice line. I used to be involved with HR for an estate agent and they would not get commission during maternity leave but would get a proportion of basic salary as above but as you say you are involved with another business stream. if you do find out for sure, i would be interested to know!

i dont think so. if you are not making sales then there is no commission for them to pay you. You would have to be getting commission from someone elses sales and i doubt anyone would agree to that. Your employer should have set guidelines for maternity leave that will answer your questions. Is there any way you can make sales from home while you are on maternity leave?
i wish i had more personal experience in this area but the closest i can get is that i was a waitress when i was pregnant with my first and i was able to still receive hourly but obviously was unable to make tips (which was where the majority of my income came from).
Good luck

You can if the sale (or meeting of the minds) took place before you were officially on disability, which is what maternity leave is considered.

So long as you are not participating in the sales at the time of your leave you should be able to collect commissions due to you, for prior sales.

Like, if I met some people, showed them some houses, and wrote up and offer for them on one, and then had to hand the sale over to another person to go have my baby, then I would still be entitled to my part of the commission of that sale, even though I was on leave.
