You may qualify even tho you live with Mom. Make sure you tell them you make your meals seperate from hers or they will count her income against you. There are a lot of people on here who have never been in your position and think they know what they would do. Its not like you dont work but sometimes pregnancy makes it impossible. You have to do what is best for your child.Dont forget to apply for WIC also. And once the baby is born you could qualify for AFDC until you return to work.

Saying the father should do his part is true but unfortunately he has no responsibility to help support the mother of his child even tho she is pregnant with his kid. But go for him after the baby is born and get child support you will need all the money you can get.

Boy, I understand that you don't want to put this all on your mom, but why are you ok with putting it on all the rest of us taxpayers? I mean, you made the CHOICE to get pregnant by a man you clearly didn't know well enough. Why do we have to pay for your choices?

You need to take the adult step now of contacting the father and explaining that you will be requiring support from him. He needs to support you now AND after the child is born. It is not right for him to shirk his responsibilities and foist the care of this child on the rest of the country.

As for qualifying for food stamps... since you can't work (I'm sure a doctor will vouch, right?) then you probably qualify for all sorts of aid. Regardless, you should definitely look into WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) for after your baby is born as they provide the essentials for raising kids (milk, eggs, bread, cereal, formula, etc) and it is actually a decent and worthwhile program.

Don't listen entirely to the guy before me...its obvious that he has never been down and out.
Food stamps are there for those that need them and at this point it sounds like you need them. Just don't take advantage of them and try to get back on your feet again.

You can go to the food bank to help with food until you get the food stamps. I actually have eaten better before when I went to the food bank than when I had money.

He is right about the father stepping up and taking responability, if he's unwilling then there are legal ways to help.

Here is a list of local food stamp offices:

Good luck to you and don't be ashamed if you see anyone you know at the food bank...they are there too.

Morons, now that the anti human government of reptiles have sat and voted poor humans out of existence denying them food stamp rations, many human will go hungry and die. Too many years of nasty government reptoids lining their own pockets, nod destroying planet earth and it's people. $1,000.00 per year food allocation will be the new ration for families on food stamps. If you do not like pulling this on your mom, what makes it more acceptable to pull it on all of the other citizens who pay taxes, and would therefore be paying for your food stamps?
I would suggest that you contact the father of this child and have him pay for the food you and the baby need.
The name of the game is responsibility for your own actions and accountability of the father for his actions.
You should have thought about pulling or not pulling six months ago. Now its too late.
