hey my friend gave me a 512mb of DDR2-533...i know my computer has a spare slot for the ram but how do i know if my pc is compatible with this ram..ive checked the emachine webpage and i cant find the product(possibley because i bought it in Ireland)...if i do try it will it crash my pc which i really dont want to do that..anyone know if its compatible..my laptop is an intel celeron, 512mb ram at the mo and a 60g harddrive..i know pretty **** spec but hey im trying....

DDR2 is a newer type of memory, chances are that your computer only accepts the original DDR.

Your best bet to find out, since I couldn't find your model either, would be to take out the existing memory stick in your computer. Then write down the numbers on the label and google them. That will tell you what kind of memory your system currently uses.

If it matches, go ahead and plug that badboy in. Just make sure you line up the notches properly.
