i was going along fine with your post until you said 'heard something pop' did you mean this symbolically or literally?? if it's the latter you should speak with someone you trust face to face. If not, then what you have described is perfectly normal. Yes there's usually some bleeding (however not everyone has this) it's different with every girl, and every situation, and depends on a long list of factors. If your vagina was penetrated by any object (IE: penis), then yes, you did loose your virginity. It's not likely that your bleeding was caused from anything more serious than the breaking of the hymen, if however during subsequent acts of intimacy you experience bleeding, you need to talk with your obgyn, the local health dept physician, your medical doctor.... Also, I'm sure you're aware that birth control is a biggie - & unless you have been on the "pill" for a period of three months or longer, do not use it as your only form of birth control. You have to give it time to get into your system, and your cycle will adjust to the hormones in the pill, so it's imperative that you use condoms. Just a quick note, with the stats on stds going up again, it is recommended by all medical professionals that unless you are in a long term, commited relationship, with a monogamous partner that you continue to use condoms.

As far as I'm concerned, you lost your virginity the first time you had sex period. It wasn't until my 2nd time that my "cherry popped" but I still lost it the time before that. I guess it's just how you want to look at it. From a medical standpoint, yeah, you are no longer a virgin. There shouldn't be another reason that you are bleeding. It's pretty uncommon for women to bleed after their first time.

The popping sound was your hymen breaking. And yes, you most certainly lost your virginity. The first time does hurt and bleeding is normal.

That is most definately probably the reason. I don't know how old you are, but it is important that you remember to use protection and birth control. It is also important that you get the HPV vaccine to protect you from HPV which can cause cervical cancer. You should also go see a gynecologist to get checked and continue with yearly check ups. I am 23 and I made some horrible mistakes when I was young, but I just got lucky. I have friends who haven't been so lucky. Good luck and play it safe.

no matter how bad it hurt after you had sex for the first time you should see a doctor to make sure that every thing went correctly down there

there have been times where girls had no pain and tore somthing in the vagina

just because you bled down there doesn't mean you lost your virginity. you said you had sex for the first time; that's makes you a Non-virgin now.

true, however, your hymen can break from an injury (sports related, etc), tampons, etc... but yes that was your hymen breaking... and no, you did not lose your virginity for the fact that your hymen broke... it was lost because of vaginal penetration.. congrats :)

Yes, this is correct. You may also bleed the next few times that you have sex, as well.
