I love them all, but Max is so dynamic to watch.
Briere, Drury and Vanek blow me away on a regular basis and the tenders? Miller and Biron are amazing.
Love Pommerville--think he is very under-rated and will be huge in years to come.
My all time favorite is Perrault, just typing his name gives me a rush.
So bummed about Goose. Get well Paul Gaustad, the team and the fans will miss you!

Daniel Briere, and all-time, Gilbert Perrault. Gilbert Perrault holds most of the records for the Buffalo Sabres franchise. Daniel Briere leads the team in assists, points, and 6 goals behind the Chris Drury with 24 goals this season. He can pass, he can shoot, he can score, got 1 goal, 4 assists in the All-Star Game, and won the All-Star Game MVP.. one of the more under rated players in NHL, but a big part of why the Sabres win so much, and a HUGE reason why Drury scores so much. Not many people notice, a good amount of Drury's goals are assisted by Briere.

Well this has to be one of the toughest questions to answer. Where do I start? There's the goal-scoring talents of Chris Drury, the stick-handling leadership skills of Daniel Briere, the young talents of Thomas Vanek and of course, the breakthrough player of the year in my opinion, Ryan Miller. Overall, the best Sabres player has to be Daniel Briere. He was always a great player and I have so much respect for him. He is always the setup man, looking for the open man to score the game-winner. The guy leads the team towards greatness. Daniel Briere is the best player in the Buffalo Sabres. I wish he was in the Devils .. Great player ..

I like the Philadelphia Flyers and I hate the Buffalo Sabres. But from watching last years playoff series against Buffalo I would have to say Briere is the best player on the team. He is the leader of that team along with Chris Drury.

Briere is the best player on the Sabres this year because he has so much talent. He's young, can stickhandle with the best in the league, can deke like there's no tomorrow, is blessed with lightning fast speed, always produces well in the clutch, and can provide a go ahead or game winning goal when the team needs it the most. He is having a career year this year with 24 goals and 44 assists, making him the leader on the team in points and assists. He also provides the team with great leadership and responsibility that the team can definitely benefit from.

I am pretty sure mr. obama never played for the sabres....but i've been wrong before.
Currently I believe the top player for the Sabres is Daniel Briere. The leadership and playmaking abilities he brings to the ice everygame is one of the top reasons why Buffalo is such a threat this year.
However this team contains considerable depth and the play of both Ryan Miller and Martin Biron in net has been stellar.

Um, Briere's from Gatineau, Quebec buddy, not Ottawa.
I think I'm leaning towards picking him.. but I don't think I could make a definitive choice! We have so many skilled players.. 3 all-stars, 1 youngstar, and 2 more (max and drury) that I think they would have put in the all star game if we didnt have so many in there already!
Michael Peca is my favorite of all time! He might not have been the best player on the team but I was in love with him when I was like 10!
..And yah, poor Goose! I just saw him the day after his injury and he seemed fine! Smiling and laughing! Then we get the bad news a few days later :(

While I like the Obama answer I have to actually say Martin Biron. He is the top NHL backup, the ultimate team player and when Miller is down he is encourages him rather then lobbys for his own playing time. Most teams would have a goalie controversy and possibly have the lockerroom divided but Biron has been as important to the team as anyone

Really, it's a toss up. Vanek has been solid all season and will probably end the year with 40+ goals. Briere is Briere - a playmaker. Drury is clutch, and Miller and Biron are the best duo in the NHL in the net.

Henrik Tallinder.
We play much better with him and have a tremendous record when he is in the line up. We could be many more games in 1st place if it wasnt for his 2 injuries, one being the broken forearm and then the high ankle sprain. Not many people give him that much credit, but he is a GREAT defesemen and keeps our penalty kill % high.
=] Go Sabres!!!
