I started I'm on birthcontrol and I just started in December. The end of December. I had sex for the first time 5 days after getting my shot. A condom was used. I didn't have sex again until a month later. A condom was still used. However last week I had sex without a condom. He pulled out way before anything happend, just to be sure. Last Wednesday (when I should have had my period. The shots stop my period) I was cramping and there was some spotting. Thursday I was having very bad cramps and Friday morning I spotting even more. I didn't have anything with me at the time, so when I got home, I used a tampon. Usually my period only lasts five days. It's been six. And it's not regular blood. It's brown with a little red. It's clumpy too. I don't know what's wrong with me. Does anyone know what it might be?

The only way to resolve your questions is to see your physician.
It could be that your body is just adjusting to the BC, but you need to know.
Good luck.

Birthcontroll pills will mess with your body sometimes and since you just started taking them it may be that your body is just trying to get use to it is all and sometimes your period wont be a normal one even on the pill. I say its nothing to worry about but if your that concernd talk to your doctor about it. And just to help you out always use a condom there is so many stds going around out there you dont need to get any of that. And if you ever go off the pill and dont wanna get pregnant dont do the pulling out thing that does not work at all you can still get pregnant that way.

the shot has a tendency of making you spot(brownish red blood) it had me going like that for a whole month! my periods were also thrown off by them. I wouldn' t worry too much about the changes, they will pass. I still love being on the shot. If you are still worried though, go see a doctor.

the very first thing to do is relax because if you worry and are anxious you are going to pump extra adrenaline in your brain which in turn will increase the bleeding . Most hormonal tablets do cause such symptoms its safer to try barier methods than tablets. When bleeding is more than 4-5 days its normal to have lumps of clot and brownish blood pass so dont worry it is normal

when i first got on the shot back in october i experienced the same thing. for me it lasted almost 2 months, and i visited my doctor and they assured me everything was normal and will go away after some time. they said it was something to do with the uterus walls thickening so that sperm couldnot enter.
