"The stock market is at a new all-time high and America 's 401K's are back.
A new direction from there means, what?"
The stock market always goes up. It went up during Clinton's administration, perhaps even more than in the current administration. So, maybe Dems want the stock market to go up at a higher rate just like in the good old days under Clinton.
"Unemployment is at 25 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?"
And, how is unemployment measured? I recall that many people have been eliminated from the count. It is not a true measure of the number of people unemployed, and the government changed how the metric is found. So, I wouldn't crow about this issue, if it is true.
Plus, you are wrong. Look at this website that shows unemployment was lower in about 2000. 2000 is more recent that 25 years ago.

"Oil prices are plummeting.
A new direction from there means, what?"
Do you really think that our government has control over oil prices? If you do, then you are naive. And, oil prices will increase because demand outstrips the supply. Looking at short term trend is clueless.
"Taxes are at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?"
By whose measure are taxes at 20 year lows? Bush cut taxes, but the people who have enjoyed the greatest breaks are the rich. These are the people who can best afford to pay more in taxes.
"Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
A new direction from there means, what?"
Have you heard of inflation? Just like box office receipts will always increase, tax revenues will always have a high at some future date. Absolute terms mean nothing. If the tax revenues were an all time high versus GDP, then there would be something there.
"The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year.
A new direction from there means, what?"
If there was no Iraq war, then the deficit would be much lower. But, I recall that during the last Democratic Presidency, the deficit was non-existent. There were surpluses, and we were paying off our national debt - which is at an all time high.
"Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
A new direction from there means, what?"
House prices generally go up over time. And, the housing bubble is deflating. At the same time, one could make the argument that
Democrats want to enhance the stability and growth of housing. Change does need to be in the negative direction.
"Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows.
A new direction from there means, what?"
Bull - based on what information?
The consumer price index rate of change (a measure of inflation) is not at a 20 year low. Recent minimums were in 1997 and 1998, who was president then? It wasn't a Republican.

"Not a single terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
A new direction from there means, what?"
So? You don't call the rash of student shootings acts of terrorism? Only Muslim extremists can be terrorists?

I totally agree with "Your Best Friend"
But I also want to add:
The stock market is at a new all-time high and America 's 401K's are back.
You neglect to mention: Retirement is of a grave (pun intended) concern for many when companies back out of plans and commitments many years down the road... Their pockets hurt, they go back on commitments. And older retirees are hurting.
Unemployment is at 25 year lows.
Not true. Many aren't being counted. Many, many, many retirees are not counted. Those that stop looking are counted.
Oil prices are plummeting.
Ignorant assumption. But yet still, you think of oil. What about renewable energy sources my good person? What about working on lessing our dependence on this stuff? And for fact. The price per barrel is still high.
Taxes are at 20 year lows.
That we can give you. The wealthy get all kinds of breaks.
Federal tax revenues are at all-time highs.
I really like the comments by "Your Best Friend"
The Federal deficit is down almost 50%, just as predicted over last year.
I'm not even going to touch this one because you neglect many indicators that tie to this reference!
Home valuations are up 200% over the past 3.5 years.
Again, I agree with "Your Best Friend." And want to add that for many families, owning a home is not an option because of soaring values.
Inflation is in check, hovering at 20 year lows.
What world are you from? When milk costs in the mid-west close to $3/gallon when a year or two ago, it was under 2...
Not a si ngle terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11/01.
Again, I agree with "Your Best Friend" and need to add... Yet the body count continues to rise as men and women in the military do the bidding of a man that lies comfortably in his bed at night worrying about when to take his next vacation rather than those that have died for lies afer lies after lies that only propogate more hatred towards our country and therefore, will ultimately bring about another attempt. And don't get it twisted my good person - - - - foiled attempts are due to courageous and loving people refusing to let another person die in vain.

All you hear them talking about is the war in Iraq....a new direction there.....you never hear them talking about the country as a whole. Bush has done some good things for this country......it all just gets covered up by the war......and thats all the Dems seem to want to talk about is the war.....which is important, don't get me wrong....but there are many other things as well.
