Just the other day, I lost my patience and removed my MP3 (MP-C858) without "safely" removing it. I've done it before and it never effected my MP3.

Now, when I turn it on it says there are "0 MB" available, but there's also "no MP3 files" either.

There's supposed to be 512 MB available.

I tried to format it again, but it says Windows was unable to complete formatting.

I don't know what's wrong with it. Does anyone?

I would first try taking the battery out and waiting a few minutes and then put the battery back in and turn the unit on and see if that makes a difference.
If that doesn't help I'd call customer support for Coby and see what they say.

try doing a system restore on your pc... it will take all settings back to the safe mark, like, the day before you did it. it won't erase any files that you've created since then, but it will restore any old files you've deleted since then. then, plug it back in .

good luck, hope that helps!!
