((If this question offends ANYBODY I'm sorry))

According to a freind of mine , apparently the Japanese put that they won WWII in their history books. She said she found it on a website but can't seem to remeber which one. Does anyone know if this is true - and if it is, can you give me a source?

While Japan does revise history a bit depending on which party is in power, they are NOT THAT stupid to put something like that. However, they have several times minimized their role in the Nanking Massacre, a massively brutal event in China where over the course of a month well over 100000 Chinese were slaughtered. Some ultra-right Japanese politicians have stated that such a massacre never happened, though this was also contradicted by personal accounts of some old Japanese soldiers.

On the other hand, anybody can write a book. I'm sure the KKK and the White Militia would write their own history books and portray a history very different as known by you and I...

I vaguely remember something about that but can't seem to find a source. If it was true it isn't there any more but I wouldn't doubt it was in 1945-46 era. I was stationed in Okinawa before my deployment and there is no denying our victory in WW II

The Japanese officially signed a document of surrender.

That wouldn't happen if you thought you were the winner.

The real fact is that when there is a war, NO SIDE WINS.

your friend is insane. Get better friends. I have seen some books that claim Japan won the long term fight by becoming a parasite on the U.S. Economy, but tht is rubbish. Japan does have the worlds second strongest economy.

No. It could be possible, however in public schools [and really any school that wants it's students to be smart] they would do this.

It is not true at all. Two major bombs were dropped on Japan. Their nation lay in ruins and the bombs were uneccessary -Imperialist Japan was about to surrender anyhow.
