Valentines Day seems to have become mostly "give women gifts day," at least commercially. It seems like there is so much pressure on men to get HER something, to impress her (with the same old stuff she's gotten before)...while some women just turn around and act ungrateful. And I wonder, what about the guys? V-Day should be equally focused, the showing of love equally balanced. Not all necessarily commercially, but at least emotionally. Were I with someone I would never want him to feel left out.

I have to agree with what you said - the last time I got anything for a gf, all I got in return was a mouthful of abusive language - most un-ladylike. Needless to say, we didn't last too much longer after that.

Wouldn't mind a V-card though, it's been 4 years since the last one....... *sigh* never mind.

I feel left out. I also feel that many men don't like V-Day because it has become a quest to impress a woman with gifts and if he fails, he doesn't even get points for trying.

We live in a society where men are supposed to give women special treatment. Why women deserve this special treatment is never explained. This stuff used to make more sense before the feminist movement. Men had it good most of the time, and women had it good sometimes. Now, women have it good sometimes, and men have it good.... well we don't.

Years ago I might have felt left out but I've grown numb by all of this kind of thing. Now I enjoy being a crabby old man.

It's because women are typically materialistic. Men want sex and women want stuff. I'm not saying all men or all women but typically!
