I am now 16 days late. I took a test when I was 7 days late and it came up negative. I am usually on time within a day or two. I don't really feel any difference in my body. I kind of feel like I may be getting sick, but I am not sure. I do not feel like I will be starting my period anytime soon. Should I take another test even though the first one was negative and taken after being 7 days late? Could the reason for me being late be stress related? What are some of your experiences or opinions? Thanks!

Stress can definately delay your period. Take a test again. If it's still negative, then you're not pregnant.

Stress can definitely cause you to be late. I had a friend who didn't have a period for 4 months due to stress. I would still take another test however due to the fact that at home pregnancy tests can also give false readings which has also happened to a friend of mine. It is best to take it first thing in the morning as this urine is supposed to be the most concentrated and give the most accurate reading... if you still dont start within another couple weeks, I recommend going to your doctor just to be sure there is not something else going on. Good Luck!

I would try taking another test. If it comes up negative, try to see your doctor as soon as you can. When I got pregnant with my son I was very very tired all the time. I also noticed light spotting on the day I was supposed to get my period. It could always be stress related, but 16 days is a pretty long time to be late especially if you normally have regular periods. You could take another test but I would just go straight to the doctor.

I had a friend once who was under stress and missed her period - she was not pregnant. It started up again the following month. You've already tried a home preg test, so why not try to get a more "professional grade" test? If money isn't an issue, it's time to call your OBGYN for your own peace of mind. In a pinch you can go to your regular doctor, a walk-in clinic, even the ER (but that would be expensive and they might turn you away and tell you to go to a clinic). If money is tight, called Planned Parenthood or Family Planning. Usually they can squeeze you in next day for a test, and it's free or low cost depending on your income. Good luck!

A missing period can be stress related. However, taking a pregnancy test might be a good idea because it would be more accurate than the first one you took. If it is still negative then see your doc.

I also am very regular and when I was pregnant with my daughter that test just wouldn't go negative! I would take another one and this time make sure to do it with your first morning urine. It will have the highest concentration of the hormone the test is sensitized to if you are pregnant.

Stress can cause you to be late though so who knows!

I would take another test, i felt like i was going to start my period for three weeks, and never did. because i was pregnant. lol.

But you can skip a period for no reason, it doesnt mean anything.

It could be stress or you got a cold or something. Both can make you do that. Just try and get healthy and relax and see what happens.

You should get a blood test..I know a couple of people who have to have blood test because they can't get positives on pregnancy test.
