social security administration?

I would like to know if and when my husband dies, if I get his social security check or do I just keep mine.

I believe you can keep the larger of the two.

If married when he dies (if you don't go first) -- you have the option of taking his or keeping yours -- whichever is the most is what people usually take.

You get either yours or half of his, whichever is greater.

smartypan is right it's which ever is greater, but you will not be able to collect both.
