I have a lot of clothes, kitchenware (glasses, dishes, appliances), linens, shoes, and handbags. It seems that the Salvation Army only wants clothes and furniture. Can anyone suggest a place with pick up service? and if not, I'm willing to find a way to drop off my stuff.
Manhattan and surrounding area. Thanks!

Call up Big Brothers,Big Sisters. They will schedule a pick-up date when they're in the area. Once they do that, you're on their phone list and will call when scheduled to be in your area.

The Ronald McDonald House on the Upper East Side is always looking for stuff, if not you can drop it off at a local church and they will make sure it gets into the hands of the needy. The Salvation Army will only pick up three bags of clothes or more or like you said, furniture. But the rest you are better just donating and dropping off -- no one else picks up.

Bostona is ideal. In 2007 you need to have a receipt for donations (no more beneficial previous due evening drop-off's in the Rescue mission bin!) keep in suggestions, in case you donate to a church, make certain you position it in an envelope including your call and handle, till you're a member at that church. Get that tax credit!!!

You can get your very own designer bag from http://urlx.org/directtrack.com/6809f for free. All you have to do is fill out the survey. My girlfriend got her bag from that site and all she had to do was choose the bag she wanted and enter in her email address.
