What is the penalty for someone who illegally forges a name to change a mailing address?

For instance- I know someone who's girlfriend got pissed and forged his name so that his mail got sent to somewhere in another state. I know this is illegal, but what is the penalty?

This is considered MAIL THEFT and is a VERY serious charge, on par with credit card theft and identify theft. Postal inspectors take mail theft very seriously.
