Because he had no one better to go to. Brian Griese? You can't be serious. They just had to ride out the storm with Grossman, because that was the best bullet in his gun

Well normaly I would give a quaterback who's basically a rookie the benefit of the doubt, but it's a good question. I mean it wasn't that bad, until that Arizona game. I thought he should've been benched after 4 turnovers in a game, but hey, he also proved he can be one of the best with more passer ratings over 100 than any other quaterback, cept Peyton but he's a machine so he doesn't count. In my opinion he's too up and down to trust, but I guess he's gonna get another shot, so what are we gonna do? really we have 3 other options.

1. Brian Grease- Our backup. He really messed up with I think it was Tampa. BUT his uprise is he doesn't make as many mistakes, and mistakes are what kills us. Look at the Dolphins game, all the Dolphins points were off turnovers. He would be good with our Defense because he doesn't crack as much under pressure like Grossman does, but he's not gonna get us the 100 passer ratings too often

2. Jeff Garcia- He's great, but who knows if he's willing to play for another team where he might not start. He would rather sign with someone like the Vikings (suposing the don't draft a QB) then us where he might not start.

3. Matt Schuab- Haven't seen much of him with Vick taking the snaps, but what we have seen from him wasn't bad. If we can get him from a trade or sign him whenever his contract with the Falcons end, it might be good. But signing someone we don't kow much about could be risky.

What I think is we need to get someone to at least challenge Grossman. What harm could it do us?

Grossman is still relatively young, and this was his first full season. who are they going to go with, Griese? He's had two shots at being a starting QB, so he's now getting his just desserts. There's no one out there who would be a long term answer, and I'm sure Lovie is smart enough to yank him if He's consistently making the same mistakes after a full training camp and early into the season. I give Him all of next season to show improvement...drafting a friggin tight end might help!!!

Rex Grossman is pretty much a rookie for this past season. give him a break. B.Griese is not a long term fix. grossman, now that he has been through a season should be much better next season.
I think if the bears had Jesus as their quarterback, they would still complain. there is no perfect qb for the bears, that's just the way it is

Rex started off hot and then cooled off after the first 4 or 5 games and griese isnt that much better.

The bears still would have reached the super bowl even if my sister was the qb, their defense got them there. And the bears still suck, minus their D.
