Well you should know your companion well enough.Have you talked about marriage or starting a family or a life together,etc..I am just saying if you are worried and have that much doubt about her answer,maybe you should wait a little longer to make sure you know her feelings on it.And if you are going to buy a ring before you propose,but still unsure,make sure you can return it within so many days of purchasing it.But if you propose and you already have a ring and she says yes..she will love that you put in the thought and got her a ring already...than she can tell all her friends and family the good news AND she can also show off her ring.Good Luck,Hope it works out for you!!

If she says yes, that also means a second trip to the store. If you buy the ring before you get engaged you get to pick it out. If you wait, she will most likely want to go with you to pick it out and then convince you that you can afford more than you planned on paying.

If your'e unsure about whether she's going to say yes or no then it's probably too early to ask. Ditto on if unsure about ring type or whatever....If you're paying attention you can generally see how she reacts to other peoples rings to see what she likes and doesn't like.
But...you can always ask her with cubic zirconia and then let her pick out her own ring at the store. Caution: her ring will likely be more expensive then one you choose.

there isn't. that is old world philosophy but if you want to ever live it down and women are by definition grudge holders.... You best damn well take her out to some differnt ring stores to try some rings on and be very inquisitive to what size it is that is being tried on so you will know what size ring it is she wears for sure!

So you can get down on one knee.. hold the ring up to her and ask her romantically.. remember she will remember this day for the rest of her life.. put that extra effort into it...
You don't know she will say no... so be traditional and ask her with a ring

so you can open the box when you are down on your knees, asking her to marry you. If front of all of those people, and to show that you love her enough to get her a ring, in the first place, that can mean a lot.

because its better to ask with a ring to show that you cared enough to make those maybe 2 trips then to ask her without and show her that you had doubts that she would really say yes to you
