I've never build a website before, but I've messed around with the internet for years and pretty much understand how it works and I've messaed around with my myspace page a lot. Plus, I understand the besics of how to attract customers and how to build a website that's easy to use and that looks attractive. I know that one doesn't need a degree or 4 years of college to enjoy a successful career in website designing. Which classes should I take and how do I get into this kind of business?

I agree that you don't need a degree, but I know most places will look for one. Not only that, but somebody with a lot of experience. I would suggest doing some freelance work so you could get some experience and have the chance to put a portfolio together.

Good Luck!

In recent years the computer industry has become a real dog-eat-dog kind of industry. You probably would have better luck by approaching your career from the opposite direction. Try asking yourself "What companies are close to where I live and have a good reputation for being a nice place to work?" They probably have some need for computer staff of some kind. Hopefully, you can find a rewarding position that way.
