Definitely India, Pakistan are facing too many problems with their batting order. Besides, Inzamam isn't aggressive enough to win Pakistan a World Cup.

I don't think India and Pakistan are going to face each other in the world cup. West Indies will take care of Pakistan.

Without any doubt, India.
India has a better batting line than Pak. In Pak only three players who are sound in batting techniques, Inzi, Younus and Yousuf. Rest of the players struggle badly against good attack.
India's batting line consists of Ganguly, Sachin, Dravid being backed by Yuvraj, Dhoni and likes of Robin.
In bowling also, Pak heavily depends on Akhtar and Asif. India does not have bowlers like Asif and Akhtar but all put together, they look better.
Ofcourse in fielding Indians are better than Pak, though marginally.

Pakistan is the better team as of now.
Because
1. Mohd. Yousuf is at th peak of his career. He is a pivotal player around whom the whole Pakistani batting line up revolves. Also he is a great player in the slog overs.
You have to rely on Inzi in any situation(specially in crisis).
Younus Khan has been one of the most prolific run-scorer of last 2 years.
So middle order is like a rock.
2. For the slog overs they have the most dangerous player in Abdur Razzak who can destroy any bowling attack within a min. and take the game away from the opposition.
And ofcourse there is Shahid Afridi. Who can ever forget him?
3. Mohd Asif is a great bowler on any kind of wicket and in any situation.
Rana Naved & Abdur Razzak are useful ODI bowlers.
You can't discard Shaib Akhtar at any instance of time.
Danish Kaneria will add a great variety in the bowling attack.
Afridi can be dangerous with the ball.
4. Their average age is lesser than that of the Indians.
5. No fitness problem.
Now for Inidians
6. Average age is 27.5 which is much higher what it should be.
7. No genuine all-rounders like Abdur Razzak. That can be costly. 5th bowler's quota has tobe filled up by Sachin,Sehwag,Sourav. Against good teams that is going to hurt India badly.
8. Fielding is poor.
9. A great concern about the fitness of some main players like Sachin,Sourav,Rahul,Zaheer. We may not get them as fresh as one would like to see in the World Cup.
10. Middle order is uncertain. Not too sure about the place of Dinesh Karthik, too much pressure on Sachin,Sourav and Rahul as far as our batting is concerned. And also Yuvraj is coming back from an injury.
11. Sehwag is not clicking. This is I think the greatest concern of the thinktank right now. So one opening slot is still not fixed.
