I know this sounds kinda stupid but I love those AFLAC commercials and also the saying about letting things roll off your back like water on a duck. So when I am REALLY irritated, I say, "AFLAC!!!" to myself.
Once when I got really upset at a hairdresser (who didn't care that she had dyed my forehead purple and also got dye in my eye), I excused myself....went outside, lit up a cigarette and said "AFLAC! AFLAC!" over and over out loud to myself. Can you imagine? Purple forehead, wet hair, smock, standing outside yelling ALFAC! to myself!

You can use tryptophan to relax . Running , punching a bag , playing games , warm bath , anti-depressants but I do not prefer them ,
To improve your body`s resistance you can take vitamin C around the day 5 or 6 times up to 1000 mg per day . But divide the dose into 5 or 6 because it is water soluble and it is gone while urinating if body does not use it . So giving another little dose another time would benefit more . And you should use anti-oxidants .Some pain relieving herbal teas may help . I know their Turkish names but I do not know English names . But you can have a quick search about herbs and find out which is better for you
I sometimes feel very angry around the day and I realize that I am more angry when I can not get a good night sleep or when I have chronic pain .
Try to avoid using medicine for every complaint because medicine give harm more than benefit . They create old and suffering people and seem like they lengthen life . Not all of them but most of them . So do not use them until they are necessary .
You can do some weight training because it improves body`s capability with stress . I did 2-3 years of weight training and I were doing when I am 13 too . And saw that right weight training makes sense . As you become fit you feel better . But do not over train . You don`t have to use heavy weights and also doing heavy is not good indeed . Take 400 units vitamin D per day or every 2 days . And try to take 800 mg of calcium . All these help your body . And when your immune and other systems start to be strong and become stronger you will feel better
But sometimes pain is just psychologically. Then you are the medicine at those times . You should concentrate on something else rather than the subject that makes you angry .
I also used anti-depressants which are prescribed by doctor but they are bullshit and nothing did beside making me sleepy . And I lose acedemic achievement while I m using them . Because it slows down some part of brain . I guess front lobes interaction that may cause some obsessive compulsive behavior or hyperactivity or some hyper connections between frontal lobes may lead different outcomes . But that is not the issue . Because that is your brain no matter how it works. You should find the way to how have it working properly rather than trying to change it is way of working .
We are human , We have ability to think and solve problems. But firstly we should believe ourselves to solve something and do useful things that we will be proud of in the future in our lives .
I believe if you want you can cope with your anger . The key is in your brain .You can find the way .
I am in my second year in college and majoring economics . I always wanted to become a doctor . And had problems in my high school . And that affected my future academic career . The first year in my college was really awful . But I see that I can cope many things on my own . I m in the second midterm of the second class now and everything is becoming better . Even everything gets worse I always find something to feel happy.

I agree with you. I truly don't like people. They are so selfish it's frustrating and infuriating. When I think people, I think selfish and just want to get away from them!
At the same time though, I am a realist (at least I think so) and know that we have all been put here for a reason and that I can't live in a world by myself. Also I've got truly genuine friends who I am blessed to have (not many but I'm grateful just the same). All in all people are not nice!
Also I have renewed faith since becoming a member of Yahoo Answers. People here give of themselves unselfishly and it's very refreshing!!!
Keep the faith
To calm down - nice warm bath, if you're an out door type, hike, sporting activity, swim, find something that you truly enjoy and indulge yourself.

First of all what do you find so irritating? Is it because we are all different? Or is it the fact that you don't like the part of yourself you see in all the different people you see daily? Do you find people irritating because you are a spoiled brat and don't get your way? What makes you so mad? Is it because people don't tell you what you want to hear? You really need to take up meditating or yoga so you can find your inner soul and become a nicer person, a giving person and a person that can look in the mirror everyday and like what they see. Look for your heart and give to people on a daily basis. Remember you will get back only what you are willing to give out. Smile and the world will smile back at you. Be happy with life today, tomorrow might be to late.

If you don't like people, go somewhere that you are unlikely to find anyone. What I like to do is take a hike in the woods alone. If there is a place near where you live that you can do that it is a really good way to forget, if only for a moment, that the rest of the world exists. If that's not an option, go for a drive out in the middle of nowhere, open the windows and crank up the stereo.

Everyone is going to give you deep breathing techniques but I think you should just go ahead and dive into your candy!!!
Might want a drink with it too if you're not an alcoholic!! Happy Valentine's Day!! @8-) YES!!! This is an irritating day for all women. Just wait for tomorrow and come right back if you are still irritated!! Guarantee people will be here then!! Promise!!

When I begin to start thinking about disliking someone because of what they said or did,, I just think about how many times someone has probably disliked me for something I said or did. Then I start to realize that I'm only getting mad because this person's preferences differ from mine. And is that really a reason to be mad?I'm sure I offend alot of people by the choices I make, but who cares? Everybody is different, and everyone is allowed to make their own choices without having people constantly judge them for it.

yup, and i'm feeling this exact same way this morning. a particular person is driving me insane.
what i did before reacting was (like you!) i asked a few questions about it on yahoo answers... which not only gave me some time to step away from teh situation, but allowed me to gather some good insight from varying points of view (and anonymously, from strangers... which is always kinda cool :D). that's helped me get some perspective about not only what she's doing, but what to do next.

Hum a song that you like. Having to think of the tune and remember the words will distract you from being angry.
