You have to submit your website to all the top search engines like google, yahoo etc.
Search engine optimization is a big business and takes a lot of skill, knowledge and luck to get ranked in the top 10.

First you have to start with the basic, and that is submitting your site to popular SEs. But do not expect that you get indexed at once. Search engines have their own requirements to get a site indexed. It is better if you will be able to know these things too.
But in general, to get indexed, you have to update your website at least once every day. You have to also post good contents related to your site. Remember that quality contents is one of the major factors search engines look for in a site.

You're asking the wrong question.
First, decide for WHICH KEYWORDS/KEYPHRASES you want to rank high. Part of the decision is figuring out whether you have any chance of success.
