Abraham Lincoln said it best that all the armies of europe, africa, and asia COMBINED could not by force take a drink from the ohio, or make a track on the blue ridge, not in a trial of a thousand years. That if destruction be our lot, we ourselves must be it's authors and it's finishers. It cannot come from abroad. Quite simply that if America crumbles, it will crumble from the inside out. And LIBERALISM is doing a fantastic job of doing just that. So if a liberal wins the White House in 2008, coupled with a liberal senate and house, you can expect the following:

Higher taxes, abortions for all, higher taxes, increased dependency on the government, higher taxes, weak military, higher taxes, no war on terror, higher taxes, alternative lifestyles taught to our kids at school, higher taxes, letting the UN control US national security, higher taxes, racial quotas, higher taxes, and oh yeah……higher taxes!

Well said, Drew_Blood.

Fortunately, I doubt it will be a strong majority in Congress, so there should be quite a lot of gridlock. However, it is hard to imagine taxes not being raised, Iraq being abandoned, Israel being very much in danger, some very counter-productive measures introduced in energy and health care (probably significant moves toward a disastrous nationalized health care system) (because liberals are in outer space when it comes to what actually happens when the government intervenes where it doesn't belong).

I am tired of liberals making outrageous claims about what has happened because of Bush. To wit:

1. "We will restore many of the rights we have had removed or usurped over the 8 years of Bushco." Fine, please list the rights YOU have lost. Now, if you are a terrorist, I could see why you might be upset.
2. "Democrats will eliminate the deficit, just like under Clinton." The fact is, Clinton would have blown the budget except for the fact that he had a Republican Congress under Gingrich that actually did limit spending--remember the government shut-down?
3. "The International Community will love us again." Sounds so wonderful, until one considers the reality: the international community as a whole has generally not loved America. If we allow the esteem of the international community to dictate our . actions, we invite serious trouble. The one consideration must be the national interest of the US. Of course, we can have heated debate about what that interest is, but it is not to gain the respect of the international community, much of whose respect we should not be courting at all.

I guess that's already long enough. Hillary's election would be bad, but America will still come out strong.

Not hardly! You sound as though you don't know the meaning of the word Liberal.
Because a person is liberal doesn't make them stupid! They are just able to look at a problem from every point of view & perhaps, choose the correct answer to our problems.
Just maybe, Congress will have the guts to take back the power designated to them alone to decide when & if this country will go to war. This handing the power to one man, the President, was a total cop out, the Democrats didn't do it, the Republicans did!
Although most Presidents have not sought the approval of Congress before going to war, that could be changed by making it a must, not an after thought! They have the power to change things, if they don't, they should never be re-elected.

Yes, it will be the end of the USA as we know it. It will be a much better place. There will be more concern for children, the elderly, the weak, the oppressed, the downtrodden, and the poor. We will start cleaning up the environment, and start conserving our natural resources. The trend of global warming will be reversed. We will become energy independent. We'll end Republican deficit spending. Corporations and individuals will have to become accountable. Compassion will replace greed.

Probably not. Bush and the conservative congress(whom I voted for and supported) have basically done nothing, and agreed on nothing. When the new liberal president and liberal congress get into power I suspect more of the same thing. Basically nothing. It seems to me that by the time you get to the top level of government, you have lost all touch with the real world.

Yes, as we know it under Bushco. We will restore many of the rights we have had removed or usurped over the 8 years of Bushco. Millionaires will begin to pay their fair share and somebody will finally care about medicare and old people, social security and that sort of stuff. We will improve our air from what it is now and those who talk the talk on alternative energy will finally be walking the walk. Our budget will be brought back into line where we will no longer have a record deficit but maybe even a surplus as we did under Clinton. Other countries will regain their respect and admiration of us. There will be less corruption and an administration that is competent.

Oh yes an end to the USA as it is known today will end and a new era will begin.

One can hope the voters of this country are not so stupid as to allow either party total control of the government again. I am SO sick of this puling pathetic partisan p*ssing contest called politics I can hardly bear to watch the news any more. But, it is like a train wreck. You are horrified, but have to watch anyway!

No. Clinton had a majority from '92 until '94, when people got sick of his scandals and sky-high tax hikes.

I'd expect taxes to go up, some stupid attempts to circumvent the 2nd ammentment, cuts in military spending, and feeble responses to terrorist attacks.

America will survive, we always do.

Yes. We will see the decline of America into a socialist state, hopefully followed by a revolt by those of us who still care about freedom and the vision of the founding fathers. I will not tolerate myself or my children living in an America that looks like France, or any of the other failed EU socialist states.
