It depends on not only your likes, but how you want to feel in the room. Any room that is small will feel larger if you use lighter shades of the color you like. Yellows and reds have been shown to not be restful, pale pink and pale green are calming, and neutrals allow you to accessorize with a greater range of items.

Also, color can affect your perception of the room's temperature. A common trick of house painters is to paint a living room or bedroom with an extremely pale blue, almost an off-white, knowing that the occupants will perceive the room as "cold" and ask them to come back and re-paint within 2 years. If you do go with an off-white, try a warm shade from pale ivory all the way to a light sand.

Think about your furniture as well. If you have metal or dark wood pieces, a cool color will make the room feel even colder, and a dark color will make it feel cramped. Light wood goes well with pale neutrals in warm tones, or the very pale warmer colors.

Other than that, it's whatever you can stand waking up to for a year or so.

How many windows do you have? Is your room dark?

Lighter colors will make your room look bigger, you should stay away from colors that are too dark.

Maybe a gold or a light pink, blue or green. You can also do colors that have a warm base, like a burnt rose or a tan.

You can try using complimentary colors also, like paintig two walls one color or painting moldings etc. a complimentary color.

Go to the paint store and look at some samples.

If it's small, do NOT do too many dark colors!!!! I would suggest making the room look bigger by painting three walls stark white and the wall behind your bed one color....deep red would be too dark, but it would look great....but maybe a nice green or soft colors....it would give it contrast and open up the room!!!! Then, if there isn't a window on that side, hang a curtain rod and put those drapy curtains and pull them back as IF there were a window right over the top of your bed on the colored wall......that always looks soooo pretty.

I was going to say red but since it's small, it would only make it look much smaller. They say that orange is good for getting your man in the mood. *
