Are libs sane?

Freedom of choice is sane

What makes Portugal so "wonderful"? why is a minor insignificant hot dusty Iberian country of any importance in any debate on abortion?

And before anyone starts quoting the Bible, it's worth noting that the Bible doesn't regard abortion as killing a baby because it clearly states in the Bible that a baby isn't living until it has drawn its first breath. I am not sure who is being exterminated. It would be interesting to see some stats on it. Is it mostly poor people getting abortions? But, it is being pushed under the "womens right to choose" banner. Who knows what it really behind it. Perhaps its voluntary population control of "undesirables".
Late term and partial birth abortions seem extremely wrong to me. Isn't 5 months long enough to decide whether or not the child is wanted? And another mystery is why there are so many abortions when birth control is the best it has ever been.
I don't think Libs say abortion is wonderful, but they do seem to favor it.

We "libs" do not think abortion is wonderful. What we do think is that the government should not have a say in what we can and cannot do with our bodies. Also, most people who are against Roe v Wade are not saying that abortion should be illegal across the board, they are saying it should be a state by state issue. If this were the case, abortion would be criminalized in the majority of the country, but would remain legal in the more liberal-leaning states (Calif, Mass., New Hamp, etc). This would result in one of two things: women travelling across state lines to have the procedure done or participating in illegal, unsupervised abortions that would increase the health risks.

Im surely not liberal, but Im not ultra-conservative either and I have a hard time believing that ANYONE thinks abortion is "wonderful". I think abortion is a horrible thing. Especially for the mother! But I think that there are times when abortion is the only option as in when the mother may die if she continues to carry the fetus. This happened to a relative of mine five yrs ago and she was devastated. But her husband and the docs convinced her to abort the nine week baby because another 1-3 weeks of pregnancy would either leave her with no ability to have children again, or kill her.
In those circumstances, Im pro-choice for sure!

It's one thing to "load" a question but YOU are really abusing it, booby! I've NEVER heard anyone say that abortions were or are wonderful... have YOU ever had one and considered it "wonderful"?

Unless YOU consider it "wonderful," don't try to put words in other people's mouths or thoughts; you AIN'T that good to get away with it.

Now, really, try to be a little more sensible and stop with your ignorant, asinine and facetious questions... you really SHOULD know better, OK? I know it must be difficult for you but TRY to act like a mature and intelligent person while you're posting questions here; FAKE it if you have to, OK?

Whenever any church (or religion) rules (theocracy) there's sure to be human rights abuses, hunger and poverty while the officials coffers are overflowing with wealth and the leaders enjoying obscene luxuries... isn't it WONDERFUL that you have the luxury of such freedoms, liberties and rights to express your opinion without persecution from fanatical religious leaders or gangs of religious thugs patrolling our streets and eavesdropping in your personal affairs?

Isn't democracy WONDERFUL when people have the right, liberty and freedom to make individual choices... rather than have religious hypocrisies make arbitrary decisions for you based on their personal agendas and/or whims?

Hey, booby, there's a great reason why our Founding Fathers included Separation of State and Church! Perhaps you're not bright enough to appreciate this... so, let adults deal with these issues, and you can intrude on adult conversations when you have something intelligent to say, but not until then! Just stifle yourself, Archie Bunker! OR don't you believe in the sanctity of doctor/patient confidentiality... or a woman's right of privacy?

HOW MANY unwanted children have you adopted lately...? There are enough to go around for everyone one of you who are against a woman's right to privacy and right to personal choice!

I guess you'd rather have abortions made illegals so that ONLY the wealthy who can afford to go overseas will be the only ones able to have abortions, right? Yes, straddle the poor with more financial obligations; financial enslavement is easier than using chains and shackles.

Are you moving to Portugal anytime soon...? We will NOT miss you! Have a safe and happy trip, and best wishes to you in Portugal!

Notice how quickly and defensively the pro-aborts jump to say, "No, we don't think abortion is wonderful?" Why not? Could it be, perhaps, because it is a simple, undeniable biological fact that every abortion kills an innocent human being, and even they know that killing innocent human beings is wrong?

It makes NO logical sense to say, "I would not choose abortion, but I think others should have the right to choose it." From http://www.deathroe.com/Pro-life_Answers :

"The only basis for being opposed to abortion is the recognition that it is the killing of a child. Therefore, when someone takes this “personally opposed” position, what they are saying is, “I understand that abortion is the intentional slaughter of defenseless children, but I’m not going to do anything to stop it.”

That raises the question: which other innocent human beings do they think it should be legal to kill? Also, are they equally tolerant on other issues? Presumably, they are also “personally opposed” to rape, armed robbery, racial discrimination, and wife-beating. Do they have a problem inflicting their personal beliefs regarding these issues as well?

Of course, when it comes to this “forcing beliefs” issue, the most important point is that 45 to 50 million dead babies have had the pro-choice mob’s beliefs forced on them."

and again:

"...What these people are really saying is, “I would never kill my baby, but I wouldn’t stop someone else from killing their baby.”

To see how truly asinine that is, imagine someone who says, “I would never own a slave, but I wouldn’t stop someone else from owning one.” Could we honestly conclude that such a person is opposed to slavery?"

No, it is not sane to justify the slaughter of innocent human beings.

Absolutely no one wakes up and says "I hope I can get pregnant today so I can have an abortion"!!!!!!!!!

No one thinks abortion is wonderful!!

Most who are pro-choice don't want the government telling women what to do with their bodies!!
Or imprisoning women for having abortions!

Abortion has always existed and will always exist!!

The more important issue is personal responsibility to both males and females!!

The question is loaded and, in fact, invalid.

Firstly, as others have pointed out, I don't know of ANYONE who has suggested that "Abortion is Wonderful".

Secondly, Portugal just voted in a referendum to legalise abortions.

Yes, a nation whose citizens are virtually all Roman Catholic voted for a progressive change in the law. Incredible, eh?

No one said abortion is wonderful to start with. Also what Portugal does is their business. The right to choose is the law here.

We don't think it is wonderful, but we do believe that woman has a right to choose. That is reason Roe versus Wade is still the law. Would you rather see a unwanted baby in a black garbage bag in the trash, straving, abused or end the pregnancy before these children are born to women that can't afford to raise them or are unwanted.

They only think it is wonderful, because they won't be able to vote for 18 years so what good are they?If they could vote they would set up a democrat fetus special interest group and exploit them .I just outlined their best augment for abortion, that's sad.
