Maybe, U Joints are bad. Or you could have run over a squirrel that is still stuck in there banging to get out.

Sounds Like you have a Broken arm link. its common. The Rubber gromets dry out and brakes the bolt.

Depending on if you have a 4x4 or 2wd. Take it to somone like Good Year. They can put the truck up on the rack and then get a better look.

If it does this when you shift into forward as well it can be U joints, or maybe a transmission problem. While turning Ball joints or suspension problems.

Strut rod bushings worn out, have the suspension checked for worn/missing bushings.
